Tinkerbelle and Pixie dust

Amaara’s mom wanted a fairy tale garden feel to her Birthday cake. She asked me to make a pale green cake covered with vines and trellises and an abundance of flowers.

I had fun piping intricate scrolls on the top and sides of the cake.

The cake was two pink and white marbled buttery layers, sandwiched together with a fluffy pink buttercream and covered with a leaf green frosting. Myriad gumpaste flowers dotted the top and sides of the cake. Lady birds added colour as did a solitary fluttering butterfly.

As I added the last of the blossoms, I had a brainwave. I had an adorable Tinkerbelle topper, tucked away in the recesses of my cupboard.

She was a perfect addition to the little glade!

Here is another view of the cake- ok, more than another 🙂

  1. Beautiful! I really need to learn to pipe icing…

    • Thank you for your comment! I have a long way to go, but the best way to do it is to keep at it. Mix up a batch of royal icing and pipe onto parchment paper.

  2. Wow, that is such a pretty cake! I love the shade of green that you chose and Tinkerbell was the perfect topper:)

  3. Thank you Katy! Merry Christmas!
