Ogden Nash- my forgotten hero

Every time I think of rainbows, I remember, not William Wordsworth, but Ogden Nash.

Ogden_Nash

What a talent! It should have been him and not Walt Whitman to be chosen America’s Poet Laureate.

His poem goes-

My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky;

Contrariwise, my blood runs cold

When little boys go by.

For little boys as little boys,

No special hate I carry,

But now and then they grow to men,

And when they do, they marry.

….and talking of Rainbows, I’m finally making my rainbow cake tomorrow.
