Vatha kozambu to die for!

Who am I kidding?

While I may wax on all things sweet and waffle on all things cake, the truth of the matter is that it’s Indian food that is my first love. The spicier the better!

My husband often says, ” You can take the girl out of India, but you can’t take India out of the girl!”

Of course, he says this in a snide aside, as I attempt to speed up when the traffic lights turn yellow.

Anyhow, what I wanted to say here is while I love Italian or Thai or Mexican food, after a week or two of that, the heart yearns for a simple flaky paratha eaten with a dollop of melting Amul butter and mango pickle, or “tair shadam” (curd rice) with Vatha kozambu on the side.

And since my Vatha kozambu skills have been rusty for long, I’m linking all you adventurous souls to a blog called Tongue Ticklers. Harini’s photographs are fabulous, and her recipes even more so.

  1. Thank you for linking to my post, Radhika. I had to laugh when I read your husband’s remark. Husbands do not let such chances go, I guess!
