The Wizard of Oz is Ananya’s favourite book!
Her mom wanted to surprise her with a cake made to look like her special read.
This is a chocolate cake, filled with strawberry buttercream and covered with ganache. Red fondant makes the hard cover of the book, with its inlaid cover.
This was my first attempt at painting the background on fondant….
Dorothy and all the other characters are freely formed in fondant and stuck onto the dry backdrop. The Tinman has been painted with silver petal dust.
